A/The long walk home invokes some interesting thoughts, and coming from you I can imagine it would create some interesting poetry/prose and would be pregnant with greater meaning than anyone else who might have suggested it. In fact, your suggestion made me think about writing something to it, however, I would much rather hear anything that would come from your talents. So if you have the inkling...

Marc G recently asked people to interpret one of his images and I took a stab. Your title made me think of a few interpretations for this one...both on a personal level at one end but also from a more objective angle. Unfortunately, not right now...

Thanks for stopping in Such.

Amar, I remembered one of my poems after seeing this pic...

"Walking alone with his memories,

he walked down the memory lane,

Feeling the joy and a little of pain,

Looked back he"

This is the first stanza of that poem...rest doesn't fit here...hope you like it...

Once again a very nice picture

Regards

Arvind

Arvind, thanks for writing that. Actually I'd like to read the rest. E-mail it to me. And thanks for taking a look at the image.

Interesting you saw this is a departure (photographers eye view) as I saw it as walking towards a goal (subject's eye view?). Anyway however you see it the composition is very strong and involving.

Actually maybe I should have entitled it "The Journey"

As part of journey, one tends to go from place to place. As part of that journey you depart from one place to go to another.

At the same it is a departure to reach an end(?) and perhaps his goal. He's past the shadows and has stepped into the light, closer and closer to the goal.

The tone is great. The background is much stronger than the foreground. I like the mood. Impressive work.

Amar, it is a poetic image, and I see that poetic paragraphs were added to it.. so why not call it " The memory trail", as he looks like (metaphoricaly) going out from dark to light.Just a thought. Pnina

Amar, this is a very nice, almost meditative shot. Tone and contrast are just right, as well as the placement of the person in the frame.

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks/comments. Robert, part of me usually doesn't like things to be so centered, as I have it here. But I don't mind so much in this case.
