I'd work on getting he guy at back right out of the picture - cloning, rotate and crop, whatever - and you'd have a special photo.

her eyes should be crisper. her eyes are the first thing i noticed here.

It is not about the sharpness of the eyes! It is the emotional expression being captured that has more importance (and sells the image to the customer). With that said, try to crop in on her face more, to free the image of the white area on the left hand side and the folks in the distance on the right hand side. By doing so you will focus the energy more on her. Best of luck.

I like the "unnecessary" space. Without it, it would be more difficult to know that it is a bride and groom on their wedding day. That knowledge adds so much to what her eyes may be saying. Unless, I'm completely off my rocker and it's not their wedding, I think it is a great composition and wouldn't change a thing.

Oh my god. Do NOT crop or "clone" this shot. I can't believe John would say that. The whole solid black suitcoat is beautiful. Her expression looking over him is icing on the cake. Wonderful shot!
