Rhodedendron fiesta

ian cameron

These little islands in Glen etive Scotland are covered with rhodedendron that bloom vividly and in staggering profusion in July for about 2 weeks. I braved the midges and stomped through squelching peat bogs to photograph the rhodedendron islands on a wet overcast day. The polariser I used killed reflections and saturated the colours almost as thoroughly as I was. Please visit www.timecatcher.com. and see some more images by very talented photographers.

When I saw the image and read about the Rhodedendron and the midges - I thought Ireland (where I grew up) I will settle for being wrong :) - beautiful shot - love how the filter made the water look - well done.

I don't blame you Derek. I'm still scratching. Incidentally try Autumn theres another picture in my portfolio pages of the twin buchailes taken from a higher viewpoint at the same location. The Autumn colours (november) are sensational.
