Freedom

No manipulation. The model was jumping above water. The dark area behind the legs is due to the combination of fill Flash/dark background/slow shutter speed. I would gladly explain why this creates black lines if someone is interested and asks.

Excellent composition and point of view. Riefenstahl and Rodchenko have done it before, but this is still a great picture.

Karl, thanks for the clear explanation -- that's why I come to this site -- to learn. Oh, and to see awesome photography like this shot! Db

As both an amateur photographer and runner, I find this image very striking in a number of ways.

Fartlek is a Swedish word for "speed play" and is commonly used to describe a specific type of training run.

Your powerful image conveys a strong sense of speed and joy to me. Thank you for sharing.

I like the simplicity of this photo and the dramatic setting. There is something dreamlike over her long strides. To me the title is too much and not necessary. The lighting on the woman could have been less harsh.

Interesting cropping. I was wondering if a lot of people commented on cropping from an angle. I guess it just works here for some reason. It's great to see photographers breaking the "rules" like you did here. That's what the rules should only be for...

Well done, makes the "freedom" point beautifully. The "shadows" comments may have to do with sharpening, especially around her right arm.
