r_e 0 Posted August 22, 2004 Thats an original picture. It is full of power we know from the aboriginal signs. RE Link to comment
dhiren 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Woow, I live in DC and havent seen such a red sky from ages ! Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Hi, Ray. The monument up-lighting and search lights in the sky are dramatic. It's also neat to see the domed building on the horizon when viewed large. However, I don't think that the composition work well. May be things are clustered in the lower left of the frame, I don't know. May be you have different shots from the series? Link to comment
r_e 0 Posted August 24, 2004 interesting, getting conscious some things when reading the comments - i like it! But isnt it great, the overwhelming, dominating power of the memorial stones? RE Link to comment
raywei 0 Posted August 24, 2004 I have been spending less time to comment on photos these days, but I will get back to you all soon. Thanks. Link to comment
raywei 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Wilson, thanks for the comments. It was one of those nights that the tower wasn't lit up for some reason. Composition isn't the best, I have to agree. R.E. You too, have taken time to improve my photos, I really appreaciate it. I am on a new project that takes me away from photography, but I will get back to it soon enough I hope. :D Link to comment
carlos_castillejos 0 Posted August 25, 2004 Beautiful Ray, even if I have never been in DC I have seen a lot of shots of that place, but no one like this; I read that you dont like the composition, well I do; the red tonality is certainly original and beautiful. Congrats! Link to comment
davidorea 1 Posted August 26, 2004 Very nice image, Ray. Excellent composition, colors and use of light. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 29, 2004 And, WOW!! Sorry I missed the discussion on this one! What a sky!! When was it red like this? And how did you get so lucky as to be THERE when it happened. I'm rather jealous!! Did you have to remove people from this? I have NEVER been down there at any time of day or night that there weren't too many people around. The reds are great! The columns with the wreaths seem perfectly exposed. Nice work!!! Link to comment
raywei 0 Posted August 29, 2004 The color was created by lowering the color temperature and then saturated. They turned off the light that night on the tower. This was about midnight and there was nobody around. :D Link to comment
