Green and yellow vegetation against the clouds and the tunnel right through. The dark hole attracts. Great colours.

I agree with Kim. I was immediately drawn to this in thumbnail. It is a simple composition, and therefore has almost an abstract quality. The color combo and rich textures are just beautiful! It has a painterly feeling. I have to give it a 7/7

Stunning photo. Very dramatic mood. You have great lights on top of the greenery and the sky is beautiful. Great composition and colors. :-)

I like it, Pete. Good color and sky! Good composition with board walk leading the eye! Maybe a little (very little) cropping of the sky to move the tree line to maybe the 2/3rds point? But then again, it is an interesting sky ... so maybe as is?

Hi Pat, it's interesting that you mentioned cropping the sky because I thought about it but decided the the comp worked ok the way it was because the visual weight of the trees seemed to be more than the sky and the sky needed a little extra area to make it pleasing to my eye. I guess in this instance the rule of thirds, in my way of thinking, was more influenced by content than real estate. :)

And I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone else who commented. My greatest joy is to give someone a moment in their lives where I could provide a brief snippet of enjoyment. Thanks to all.

Another example of dramatic lighting and very nice composition. Love the lighting effect on the foliage - makes it glow.

Pete, you are doing some really interesting work these days. I love this one, and the light on the trees is simply spectacular.

Thank you both, Lannie and Dan. And Dan, I'd love to see more of your landscapes. To me they are reminiscent of the Hudson Valley school of painting.

Very painterly composition Pete......the ability to get lost walking through this scene is its charm.......regards.....Tye.
