Great find! Is that what it really looks like? That is pretty ominous. It looks like something from Lord of The Rings. What are the unusual vertical ridges half way down the rocks? And where exactly is this place?

This waterfall is in Iceland 1 or 2 hours south from near Myvatn in the north of the island.

You have to drive on a track to get there. A 4DW is required.

This phenomena is created by cooling magma. This is similar to what is found in Northern Ireland at the "Giant Causeway" site.
