Colors from the past

The old town of Koprivshtitza, Bulgaria... preserved atmosphere and

architecture for more than 100 years!

Did you use selective desaturation? If so, it appears gimmicky. Why not take a B&W photo and let it speak for itself, or a genuine color photo -- 100% color. This just appears awkward to me. I am left wondering about the wonderful colors of the tile roof and the sides of the building -- are they saturated from water (see water down side of building, is it from rain)? Etc. Etc.
