I love my dog, Farah. She's a Dutch Shepherd dog, a Dutchie as they

say in the USA. Not a German Shepherd or a Malinois, but a separate

and rare breed. There are only about 2000 truebred Dutchies in the

Netherlands and a couple more in other countries, mostly in the USA.

Dutchies are very intelligent and agile, very loyal though a bit

opiniated and they have a good sense of humour.

As they're frequently mistaken for wolves, hyenas or crossbreds

thereoff, they make great protection dogs. No problem to send your

16 year old daughter out for a dogwalk through the park at night.

Here's her portrait. I think it nicely reflects her character: proud

and selfassured, alert and fierce (nothing that shows how chicken

she hides under the bed with thunder and lightning ;-)
