morey_kitzman 0 Posted August 22, 2004 Scanned from contact sheet. I still think it conveys a certain feeling. Thanks. Link to comment
animalu 0 Posted August 22, 2004 I think this coveys a certain feeling also, one that I really like. While I would say it is peaceful, there is a dangerous feeling also. And there is also a motion to this, like it is a still image from a movie. It's the kind of image I want to keep on looking at, trying to figure out the meaning. Link to comment

jennifercatron 9 Posted August 22, 2004 In this particular shot there are several problems. The first is defining the subject area, as none of the shot appears to be in focus. I see three seperate shots here that could have been gorgeous, first the old woman in contrast with the young fellow on the bike, second is what appears to be falling off the frame on the right. And third is just the alleyway that seems to be very busy, yet isn't defined really in the shot. Tones are excellent. The peeling of the walls is excellent background. This is the kind of shot I dream of at night... Link to comment
morey_kitzman 0 Posted August 22, 2004 Jennifer I know the shot lacks in technicality. It is a scan from a contact sheet. I see the image as more metaphorical. First there is the diagonal of women, boy and man with cart. The women sees the boy's future. Here the child is without care, no shirt on his back, and the future is the man pushing the cart, carrying his burdens. From care free to weighed down. This is the life in these alleys, not much opportunity. I think this is part of the dangerous feeling Jeff referred to. There is also a strange glow to the scene. Hope this helps. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted June 6, 2005 This is the kind of photography I like: spontaneous and powerful. I find myself staying here much longer (15 min) than I would do on a technically perfect image (1 min). There is a lot to read and I basicly agree with your interpretation. Rare specimen in the PN Link to comment
