john_weaver1 0 Posted August 2, 2005 Jerry - I take photos of steam engines and find them notorious for turning our wrongly. A lower angle might take the trees out of the boiler profile, and a little flash might lighten up the front. Is there a reason why you did not include the buffers/wheels? Link to comment
mcfadyen 0 Posted August 2, 2005 The lighting or lack there of was one of the things that I didn't like about this one. As far cropping out the wheels, there were just too many distractions there to keep them in the photo. This train is in a theme park and I tried to keep out all the extra clutter, ie. caution rope, boxes of leafletts... "A lower angle might take the trees out of the boiler profile" I hadn't thought about that but you're right the tree there does take a lot away from the subject. Thanks a lot for your comments. matt_brandon 0 Posted August 2, 2005 Image is ripe for vertical orientation. Missing the train's wheels, but capturing the "noise" in the right third of the image lessens the quality. Colors seem washed out a bit too. Link to comment
mcfadyen 0 Posted August 2, 2005 The photo above is the one I wanted critiqued but when I click the add comment button I see the original, un-edited photo. Any one know why or how I can change that? Link to comment
