This is version two of this photograph; a somewhat looser crop of the

original 6x7 transperancy. The techinical details are the same as

version one, except that I rotated the image 20 degrees CW before

cropping. I would appreciate comments and suggestions on the overall

composition. If you have the time, this one really looks best LARGER.

Thank you for your visit. Regards.

lighting, composition and dof all contribute to a fluid feel difficult to get with flower shots.

Walter, from the 2 versions of that flower, IMO the former one is the better from the 2 because it has more " breathing space"... that said, it is still a very beautiful colored composition. Pnina

Why would someone slap a 1/1 rating on this? It would have to be motivated out of hate or spite. I just do not understand people like that (and I am glad I do not encounter any except here!).

Walter, I believe the 1/1 rating came from the person named Peter Hillebrand. I keep seeing his name pop up with these low ratings. I've reported him to abuse already. There is no way in H*LL, this should be rated 1/1!

I love the black background and the vivid blue color. I can't decide which one I prefer - I think I'm leaning towards this one.

Peter Hillebrand has been deleted and your 1/1 rating has disappeared, too! I'm sure he'll be back as someone else soon, but at least for now, he's not a problem.

Thank you Kim and Knicki! And I notice that PH's alter ego, Peter Hillebrand II, has also been removed from the Community. But, you are right...he will undoubtedly resurface. Regards.

Walter, I love the deep, deep blue of this flower. Great DOF and wonderful lighting falling in the right spots. And the dew drop! I almost missed it and then it caught my eye and finshes this composition with a winning touch. Fantastic work!

Walter, great photo, studying it and the tech details, a lot of thought and work has gone into it. However, you are a dangerous person, every time I look at one of Big Cat's photos I usually head over to ebay and see what Pentax 6x7 cameras and lenses are going for, trying to wipe the drool from my chin. Even if with the slide to digital, they are still a little rich for more budget. There is no denying the quality that someone with your good eye can accomplish with this kind of superior equipment.

Finding your photos here on photo.net has been a high point of my photo.net "experience".

Regards, Bill

Ha ha! Thanks W.J :0) The older 6x7's have really become affordable, but it is definetly a "buyer beware market". And thank you Jen and Lou Ann for your visit and comments. Regards.
