hassan 0 Posted August 15, 2004 Interesting lighting conditions and soft shadows. Try it with just black and white, overall 5/6. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted August 18, 2004 I like this shot, too, especially the colors. Compositionally, I wish the sign wasn't chopped off on the right side. I thought Hassan's idea about b&w was a good one, though after trying it, I prefer it in color. Link to comment
petejr 0 Posted August 19, 2004 Thanks Robert for the the comment. I played around with a B&W version too but like you thought the color version brought more to the table. Although your rendition is quite good. Thanks Amar for commenting. Link to comment
touchinglightphotography 0 Posted August 19, 2004 I too thought B+W would be interesting, but I find the color shot much more appealing. I agree, don't cut off the sign. I wonder what this would look like with a "corrected perspective" (it might loose the feeling of massiveness)...but the tilting of the building on the right is slightly disturbing to me. Again, the way you have the colors set in the sky, this is really appealing. Link to comment
petejr 0 Posted August 19, 2004 The clipped sign has bothered others too. Unfortunately, this is a full frame image so there is nothing I can do about it. As far as perspective is concerned this was shoot with the equivalent of a 24mm lens. Reshooting is an option if someone would donate a plane ticket from Atlanta :)...Thanks for your comment, Richard. Link to comment

petejr 0 Posted August 20, 2004 Thanks Lannie, not as busy doing actual shooting but playing catch up. Thanks Jan. Perhaps one day I'll get back there and do some more. Too much to see and too much to do. Link to comment

Tuhin 2 Posted August 20, 2004 Pete , it would be interesting to know the technical details specially about the sky colour.. Link to comment
hashim a 0 Posted August 24, 2004 I like how the edge on the left of the church is lined up with the edge of the image. The detail in the shot is very good too.Very interesting presentation of the sky... haven't come across to many shots with a similar look. It works very well.Nicely done. Link to comment

timw 0 Posted August 31, 2004 Pete, Love the colour contrast between the church and the sky. Had to click on this when I saw it in your portfolio - a lovely picture. Not so bothered about the edge of the sign missing as don't think it is the main emphasis behind the photograph. Well done! Link to comment
