blago 0 Posted August 9, 2004 This image is beautiful. Strong idea and bold implementation, Jayme! How did you take it? Is this reflection (?) a real one? So crisp! Regards. Blago Link to comment

rosi 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Jayme - I echo all of the positive responses. But, even though I love the photo, I humbly make some suggestions. (I sort of thought that is the reason for asking for comments .>) Regarding the reflection question, Logic suggests that the reflection is fake. That's perfectly ok in my book. But I have to ask, where is grandma standing that would make this possible? Outside a transport window on the runway? Not only would this raise safety questions, but the wind would muss that beautiful, but too long hairdo. :>} However, even if it real, the shot might be more effective if you made it look more like a reflection. (I know you love a photoshop challenge - I haven't the foggiest idea how you would do that. But I'm sure if you look at a few shots with reflections, you could learn how pretty quickly.) One more thing - retouch out the two white markers on the runway, they distract the eye and add nothing to the photo. Besides that - WOW! Your friend and co-conspiritor - Rosi Link to comment
maxhaynes 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Hmmm, doesn't make much sense to me, you can't open a window on a plane, or a window in an airport for that matter, and if you could you would be dressed not bare chested and then why would you say "Are we there yet?" when you were in the terminal of an airport? Most of this could be solved with a change of title of course. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted August 9, 2004 You are so... funny! Actually, the reflection is of the Shannon airport in Ireland. I had taken this of Ethan, while playing peek-a-boo with NaNa in his B-Pa's truck. The reflection was just plain boring and this was just way more fun. I wished I had had a picture of the plane wing, but no such luck! Larry I did think about that reflection thing, thought I might use the warp tool and warp it a bit to look like it was hot exhaust. I will try this! And I agree, I need to get rid of those 2 white things! Your wish is my command! LOL Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Funny, you, who does the craziest things, should question my thoughts on this! LOL. I really did not expect it to really be a big hit, this is just for fun, nothing else. Of course it makes no sense! Wasn't meant too! Just an exersize in P/S, and not a very good one at that! ljk 0 Posted August 9, 2004 I love the right third of the photo, but am not quite comfortable with the reflection. Original, though..I have to admit! Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted August 10, 2004 Taking critiques and compliments regarding my meager attempts at self expression too seriously, might adversely effect my way of thinking. I describe myself quite honestly when I say I am an "optimistic cynic". Photography and photography manipulation is one area where most times I try only to please myself. I am definately my own worst critic. So, if in that process to please myself, I occassionally please others, it brings me joy. I try not to understand it but only to enjoy it. Who can explain why someone else feels the way they do? I can hardly explain why I feel the way I do. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted August 10, 2004 Thanks to all for the very enthusiastic comments, they are greatly appreciated. My grandchildren, Jake, Ethan and not yet born Tyson, along with their parents, are the highlights of my life. Also Toby! Link to comment
