Steps leading to the Ohora Benzaiten in Hikone (near Lake Biwa). Although nowhere near as grand as places like the Todaji in Nara, this small shrine has retained a sense of peace despite the proximit

Handheld, using a 80mm f/1.9 lens and a red 25 filter. I've done some cleaning on the image digitally since a couple of wires were in the way.

This image started it life as a 645 negative on Ilford SFX film. It

then scanned it and did some clean-up including the removal of some

wires that annoyed me. I have two questions - Can you tell the

digital modifications I made? and How can I improve this image or

should I leave it be?

I like the way the different tones of gray show up in the image. From my perspective, I cannot identify any blemishes which betray digital manipulation. I like the image.

I wonder if using inferred film would enhance these types of shots, i have seen them used to the full extent and when used properly can be a wonderful photo

I actually did use IR film on this one. SFX isn't a very strong IR film but it does account for the white trees here.
