This is my female Moroccan Uromastyx. The light source is a 160-watt

UVB/Heat incandescent lamp. The picture was taken while she was

basking in her 2'x2'x1' enclosure. Nikon 995 - 1/30 @ f10.3, custom

white balancing.

I really like this image - the fact that you got a moving creature to hold dead still and get a perfect profile like that is great. I have a hard time photographing animals because they love to wiggle. I also love the majestic "I'm a dino" part of it. Very cute.

Technically very nice picture. I agree, your pet must be very tolerant to let you get such a nice shot. I think the one of her on the rock looking like the cat (Uromastyx?) that ate the canary is a better "portrait," though!
