sunapeephoto 0 Posted August 2, 2004 This photo was exposed during magic hour on a D70. The magic light that I would have recorded using Velvia is not here. Any clues on how to capture that soft glowing light from the low sun angle on digital would be appreciated. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted August 2, 2004 John, have you played with the settings described from pages 56-61 in the manual? I've not experimented much in this area, but as you've noted elsewhere, underexposure does seem to increase the apparent color realism. Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted August 2, 2004 I have to get a job that lets me think more about my photos. You are right Michael, my own observation and I don't remember it from one day to the next. I will have to check the settings when I get home where the image and digital info resides. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted August 10, 2004 John, have a look at the link below if you haven't already seen it. Most interesting: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/nikon-focus.shtml Link to comment
sunapeephoto 0 Posted August 11, 2004 Thanks Michael, interesting article on auto-focus. I may try that sensor test or one similar. The merry-go-round sounds like good target practise, but make sure that you either know a child on the carousel or that no one is on it or you could get reported as a suspicious character (I don't mean you personally, just anyone in general) :) Link to comment
