Her slightly disordered hair is also a good way to distinguish this image from the rather perfect-looking dance images of L. Greenfield and others. The slightly off-center composition also draws my eye to this image, where the supposed imperfections make it more interesting than the slicker, advertising oriented dance-photos I often see, while the sharpness, moment of exposure and composition assure me that this was intentional. The pointed toes and flexed muscles reveal the effort in the activity of trying to look effortlessly graceful.
