asimh 0 Posted July 29, 2004 very unique tree, becky! how far did you have to hike to find this? only improvement i can see, and perhaps you were limited on where you could stand, is the the elimination of the foreground foliage on the left side. then again, eliminating the small tree in the back would be great too, leaving the subject framed perfectly against the countryside. but then, you would have altered "reality" a lot here, so let's just go back to whence we started and just say that this is an excellent scene! asimh 0 Posted July 29, 2004 forgot to mention, i really like the cool hues also. must have been in the evening or a very overcast day? Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted July 29, 2004 Thanks Jim! It is always a pleasure... Asim, I shot this from the parking lot at the top of Mt Scott so no hiking at all. Yes it was very cloudy and late in the day. We are having a bit of a cold spell in July, very pleasant. Thanks! Link to comment
gone nomad 0 Posted July 30, 2004 Rendiering he background more out of focus would have helped. As would bringing the nearer bushes into focus. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 30, 2004 Nice sense of space. On balance maybe getting the foreground in focus would have helped that but given you used a tripod I guess that was your decision! I like the composition with the odd shaped tree placed like that. Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted July 30, 2004 Thanks for the critique Dr Phil ****. The focus was to isolate the tree. Lens wide open, I'm not sure if you mean add blur in photoshop... What did you mean? Thanks Colin, no there is nothing of interest to me in the foreground. Probably the best I could do for this is what Asim suggested... Thanks for the critique. Link to comment
someoneelse 1 Posted July 31, 2004 Looks very unreal, I like it Becky, and a shame you did remove your portrait......... Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted July 31, 2004 Thanks Els! The self portrait was bad... The guanaco is the guardian... Link to comment
