neal_ross 0 Posted July 28, 2004 That is what I call dedication! Just how did you manage to hold the camera still enough with only one hand though? Link to comment
zlm 0 Posted July 29, 2004 Whoa, those guys are about my least favorite insect, amazing capture, like something out of a biology textbook. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 29, 2004 I gave you a 7/7. But I would have just killed the darn thing. Ouch. I hate biting flys. Link to comment
krister hall 0 Posted July 29, 2004 After a while it repositioned for some unknown reason and I got the chance to change he magnification of my lens, then I got this shot Link to comment
erikadams 0 Posted July 29, 2004 Looks like it's just about to plunge in. Excellent control of your reflexes - no camera shake! The composition is even good. A very original photo with good action, although not the kind of action most of us look forward to. Link to comment
mplonsky 0 Posted July 30, 2004 I am quite facinated by the eyes of this species and you have captured them well. Link to comment
stefanvolpert 0 Posted July 30, 2004 Great and interesting! Did you kill it after taking the picture? Link to comment
feng_guo 0 Posted July 30, 2004 With another hand? This pic really makes me wondering the powerfulness of your camera. Link to comment

christopher_hayward1 0 Posted July 31, 2004 Thanks to your picture I feel all that much better at having swatted these ugly lil things. Good capture and intersting coloration of the eyes. Next time though please do us all a favor and just kill the bugger. Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted July 31, 2004 While I was waiting for the Sony F828 to come out I almost said the heck with it and bought the Rebel, but I just didn't think having to frame everything through the viewfinder instead of the lcd I would be able to get as many good shots, especially insects. This is the first time I have seriously regretted not going with the 300d. Now thanks to you, I'm considering taking a couple thousand dollar loss in camera and accessories and starting over....thank God for Ebay. I know getting this great shot is all you and I commend you for doing what you did to get it, but there's no way possible my camera could ever pull off such a quality and detailed picture. RickBraveHeart 0 Posted August 2, 2004 Razor sharp focus! Plus, it totally captures the "feeling" of being there! Great job. 7/7 Link to comment
article9 0 Posted August 24, 2004 Real good shot but damn, man, you're crasy!!! I've already got stung by a horsefly and I believe you when you say it did hurt a lot. But, where was this horsefly stinging you? (as you had to have your two hands free to shoot, I suppose it was not on an arm...) Link to comment
tom_hughes3 0 Posted April 1, 2007 just curious /who got the shot first/great picture, litteraly paid for in blood! Link to comment
