jason_messer 0 Posted July 28, 2004 first time i gave a 7:7. great job. you made something as ordinary as a drinking glass, look interesting. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 28, 2004 Very clever indeed. I would rotate it a few degrees right. Link to comment
jason_gelman 0 Posted July 28, 2004 not only is this work interesting but it's psychedelic, esp the look of the surface. quite impressive! Link to comment
root 0 Posted July 28, 2004 I like the careful placement which draws the eye to an implied line left of center. Yes, rotating the image clockwise slightly would straighten it, but there are a number of slightly out of kilter lines which balance each other, including the weave of the mat, the edges of the glasses themeselves, and the black/white separation. Are these images just for fun, or have you found a market for them? Link to comment

neal_ross 0 Posted July 28, 2004 I like it. I just wonder how it would have looked on some clear or maybe smoked glass instead of the mat? Link to comment
johnorban 0 Posted July 29, 2004 Fantastic use of refractions! Once again, your unique style shows itself. Link to comment
akbar 0 Posted July 29, 2004 Beautifully done. I also initially felt that rotating a little to the right would help, but on further reflection, I agree with Carl that it might be better as is. I have enjoyed browsing through your portfolio. Cheers. Link to comment

seven 0 Posted July 31, 2004 An example of an image screened a few years ago on photo.net. dark ages of PN Were you - viewer - to do glasses, keeping in mind that you probably want an emotive or moving theme - which way would you choose?Just adding the possibility of thought to your response. root 0 Posted July 31, 2004 Nice to see you back in the trenches. I wouldn't choose. The points of interest are very different. This is about distortion through diffraction. It has intellectual appeal. Emotional apppeal seems to me to be far more subjective. I've seen many versions of the old upload including the 'tomato' POW, but I don't recall ever seeing the overlapping idea used in this way. Link to comment
jrsteel 0 Posted March 26, 2009 Barry, I'm guessing you are a person who loves to experiment visually and we are the benefactors. I can't imagine anyone could pre-visualize an image like this. Bravo. Link to comment
