svein-frode 0 Posted August 5, 2004 Outstanding composition and great BW tones. My only nit would be the position of the person in the frame, but unless this was staged there was probably little you could do about it! Link to comment
marcio_ferrari 0 Posted August 5, 2004 Fili, this is one of the most impressive portfolios I?ve ever seen. Your digital to BW process is just perfect too. So, I'm quitting my career as a photographer. You already did the photos I wanted to do. Link to comment
james_childers 0 Posted August 5, 2004 I think this is one of the best composed photographs I've run across in a long time. The radial and linear elements combine naturally and beautifully to direct your eye towards the walking man. The sand at the bottom left combined with the clouds in the upper left add enough chaos and texture to the scene to offset the otherwise cold concrete retaining wall. The graffiti also plays nicely with the psychology of this photo. Great shot. This is definately one you should be proud of. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted August 7, 2004 Really superb. I love mostly the overly perfect composition and this amazing contrast. Splendid. Well deserved portfolio of the week, and this might indeed be your best upload so far. Regards. Link to comment

d2f 0 Posted August 10, 2004 I like this shot. The composition is good, the exposure is good (but maybe a little long since the arm is burred), board overcast sky with clouds provides the subject a natural even lighting that results in soft shadows if any. The contrast is really between nature and man made with man in between stirs both heart and mind. I assume the small dark area behind the man's head was intentional because it kind of works, I only wish it were lighter to provide better separation. Even the stairs fits into the image well, as it provides a alternate way out for the story that is unfolding before the viewer. The foot prints in the sand in front of the curved stairs shows that it is a difficult path taken by others. Very good if this was set up and planned by the photographer for this effect. This photographer has a good eye that grants the image a sense of balance and they have a future in photography, unlike the majority others who's work I have seen so far. Link to comment
thielges 0 Posted August 10, 2004 This is a stunning geometrical composition. I especially like the ray of light bouncing off of the sea to the left of the man. Few photos move me as this does. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted August 11, 2004 Perhaps the light needs to be re-emphasied at a different locale. It seems contrasty in the 12 o'clock position of the image. Link to comment

penny_cholmondeley 0 Posted August 21, 2004 This is a beautiful photo. Simple, and yet there is so much going on! Being very, very new to photography sometimes it is easy to get frustrated, but seeing images like this inspires me to keep at it. Link to comment
