tad doxsee 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Positioning the camera was tough with the rangefinder. I think it came out close to what I was expecting. What do you think? Thanks for looking. - Tad Link to comment
pixelstate 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Very nice shot. You did well to maintain detail in the foreground shooting into the sun. (Dual exposures composited? Graduated ND? Fill in Flash?) Link to comment
tad doxsee 0 Posted July 25, 2004 Chris, Thanks for your comments. None of the above. This was a straight shot. I had to boost the constrast a bit relative to the negative. The wet darkroom print shows the even more detail but I was able to do more precise burning around the sun in Photoshop than I have yet in the darkroom. - Tad Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted July 26, 2004 Sounds like you are a master of what you do.I am also a fan of classic film and manual cameras and dark rooms etc.But digital revolution is take me with it.This photograph making me rethink about going to digital! This is a fantastic shot! I love the composition and how you were able to get the foreground details in such bright light! It is hard to good shots like this one any more! 7/7!!! Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted October 19, 2004 Well done. One of the more unusual frames within a frame I've seen. Link to comment
davea1 5 Posted November 13, 2004 Hi Tad; I came over from: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2840798 I asked about the difficulty framing with a rangefinder. I see that you might have difficulty with this one in parallax in the near field and in determining the near-far focus. It looks like you were able to frame the composition so that the repeating vertical elements came out great, and the position of the sun just kisses the far branch. Great near-far focus and composition, particularly using a rangefinder! -Dave Anderson Link to comment
