dylan_mcfarlane 0 Posted December 26, 2001 Just wondering if the whole compostion is striking to anyone. I probably should have moved over to the right some, it was my first role ever of B&W so I guess I wasn't expecting much. But any comments appreciated. Link to comment
erik_asgeirsson 0 Posted December 30, 2001 I would have given the negative greater exposure and less development (although since you used color film, this doesn't really apply) to get detail in the shadow on the lower left and keep the highlights printable. A orange or red filter durning exposure would have brought out the clouds, and even then there may still be too much sky for my taste. The rule of thirds here, with 1/3 sky and 2/3 foreground, would work nicely here. Then, in the printing stage, burn in the mountain and the sky so the mountain doesn't seem so washed out (although a red filter will cut through the haze if that was the problem). Link to comment
