Bent over (brightened and less contrast to show more shadows and detail)

What do you think? Is there anything I could have done to improve on

this? Is the picture too dark, blury, or too bright?

It's hard to get good scans from prints (at least from my limited experience with it). You had to overcome a lot here.

I tried a re-edit here before I looked at your original. My re-edit looked just like the original post, so I deleted it from this thread. I like the original better because the full tonal range looks better than the grey image above. There is no detail in the shadows to bring out. Hope this is of use.
