Yes I like the squsre crop.

The square crop removes the burnt out highlight but it still can't rescue what is really just a snapshot that shows little thought or compositional effort.

Very nice although I would crop out the lower red flower, it doesn't seem to lead into the photo well. Beautiful capture on all other fronts.

While there is some compositional merit which is improved by the suggested crop, which removes the worst blown highlights, the image has little else going for it. It is unsharp ,with blown highlights and is far too contrasty.

 

Non constructive praise will not help you develop as a photographer Maria. Replacing that zoom lens with a couple of better quality Sigma's would be a good start.

I agree, dump that zoom, all of mine have been in my hall closet gathering dust for years.
