joel benford 0 Posted August 13, 2001 Very nice. I think this sort of picture deserves a bigger jpg -- the small size holds it back. Link to comment
james___ 0 Posted August 13, 2001 The idea here and the subject are great. There are technical problems that would make this image really sing if take care of. The image has a lot of flare in it. The image is really flat. The water is very muddy. The human subject has very little detail and therefore very little depth. Correct these and you have a very impactful image. Link to comment
larry gray 0 Posted August 14, 2001 appreciate the nice words...james, i had very little control over the shot...i was in canada, came upon the dude fishin, whipped out the tele, and shot a couple frames...if i ever get the time to "punch-up" the shot, i'll work on exactly what you noted...course, since the shot is about 24 years old...and i haven't done it yet...it may be awhile...joel...i'm gonna have a large print done of it one day...i always thought it was interesting..and it's always been one of my favorite shots...but never was real motivated to "work on it"... joffre_swait 0 Posted August 17, 2001 I think that what makes this photograph is the juxtaposition of water action and magnitude of the falls, with the tranquility/serenity communicated by the fisherman. Thus, I don't really know that a lot of manipulation, detail, etc., would really help. Good eye! Link to comment
