Rock Formation - PPC1IS

bekster

Just one day with a nice sky in a magical place. Putting this in a glass mount for scanning seemed to help with sharpness. This was awarded first place in intermediate slides in the Plano Photography Club monthly competition.

Another absolutely stunning photo. The texture of the rocks and earth set opposed to the dramatic sky is gripping. Nice work!

From the sky, to the rocks, to the sandy dunes beyond, it looks like a great photograph! Regards.

Wow, the sky definately livens up the image creating a more dramatic feel towards your photo.

Uh oh, looks like one of those California bunny ranches ..... you know, where they raise bunnies to be sold at auction for usually a dollar.

Becky this is beautiful. The way the whispy clouds curve over the rocks, the colors. all very nice.

Ken, bunny ranch? I think thats in Nevada.

This photo deserves a good rating, and you got one, but as I look at it I see a dramatic backdrop for an interesting foreground or theme ... which isn't there. I like the photo, but it could be better with something of interest, like some saddleless horses in the foreground. Take it for what it is ... just my opinion.

Thanks Peter Amelie Ken and Knicki!

The bunny ranch was a long time ago. I do enjoy the company of furry critters for some reason...

Carlos, thanks for the suggestion, appreciated!

Now see, you go make a change and open yourself up for additional critique ......... switch the 2 horses so they contrast better against the back drop ............. sol

Needs a bunny somewhere too ..

Linda, Thanks!

Ken, Ha Ha! Bring it on... I really like this with horses... you are right, the darker one should be in front... the bunny's gonna be hard to do... i dont have any bunnies any more... :( the auction you know...

Fabulous. A little dark at left, but Super coloring and saturation. Love the orange at right. And the sky...

Richard, Glad you like!

Phillip, I tried cropping the left but decided to keep it for the clouds... Was a good sky morning.

Now you're talking with your camera! Most impressive so far from my point of view! I like the horses as well. Do you other compositions of this site from different locations?
