johnorban 0 Posted July 17, 2004 This offering shows that PT has a sense of humor as well as being creative. It took me a little while to figure out the title, but then realized that I was looking at a hand dryer. It was clever of PT to leave clues in the reflection to help the viewer understand the composition. A refreshingly different way to respond to the assignment. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted July 17, 2004 I like this image also and the approach. I've tried several shots like this, but never been satisfied with the results. What I like best is the image of you in the mirror (a double reflection). Maybe you could have polished up the metal a little to get rid of those spots on the lower left. Also I kind of wish it weren't as centered-and-yet-lopsided, but there was little you could do about that. In any event, I like it! Link to comment
htc 0 Posted July 17, 2004 Although I like this image, I have some doubts about it. The right part is a little bit boring, so i would crop it; also the subject too centered IMHO. IMO it worth a re-shoot. regards, calin Link to comment
melissa_eiselein 0 Posted July 18, 2004 Not something I'd hang on my wall, but it is creative and it does fit the theme. I have a general idea of what I'm seeing, thanks to the "Hot Air" title, but I'm still not fully clear as to what I'm seeing. Don't worry, that's not a bad thing. It's just that I see the push knob on the hand dryer and the sink and mirror with your reflection in the background, but I can't figure out what your shooting into. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted July 23, 2004 I must agree with Melissa: "Not something I'd hang on my wall, but it is creative and it does fit the theme." In terms of composition, this is very centered and balanced, and the tonality of the b&w isn't very dynamic (muted grays). I like the title a lot. Link to comment
livvie 0 Posted July 29, 2004 restroom pt again ...lol nice street type shot here ... dont really have much else to add or suggest here other than ... i like it. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted July 31, 2004 Thanks to all for your contributions. Melissa, PT was shooting straight into the bulbous chrome attachment on the hand dryer. The fact that there was a mirror on the wall showing PT in action from another angle was the main attraction. G3? What sort of a critique is that Dominique? :) PT hasn't got a clue what you're talking about. Link to comment
