Carolyn D 44,242 Posted May 13, 2007 I am wondering how you got this shot. It looks as though he has been stab, poked and whatever else someone would do to take down this amazing creature. Or did you happen to be diving with coming upon this feeding frenzy. I hope the later. It is an incredible shot..but I am always in awe of why you would take a photo with a dead animal rather then enjoying the beauty of it alive and let nature take care of it's own.Just my opinion because I find this image very unsetteling. photographicsafaris 0 Posted May 13, 2007 Its obviously a very good shot, subject technique composition rules etc But, just remember that this was shot with a rangefinder camera, underwater on ISO 100 film in about 5m visibility. Now thats what makes this shot amazing... amazing! Johannes you must have been seriously happy when you got your negs back! well done boet. Link to comment
michael_r_riley 7 Posted May 13, 2007 Reminds me why I never had any desire to get into this area of photography. Great shot but not worth MY life. Congrats on surviving! Link to comment

lornamarshall 0 Posted May 24, 2007 amazing photo, but my animal rights side needs to ask why the poor thing is so bloody? 7/7 (if the shark survived). Link to comment
lmeinhardt 0 Posted May 24, 2007 How long did you take to remove the camera from his mouth? You obviously got your camera eaten by this beautiful and still not respected White Shark!! Fantastic moment and original composition!! Excellent shot!! Congratulations!!! Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted May 24, 2007 I am guessing from the sharpness of the entire critter, that it was not a long lens that you were using. So, you were really REALLY close. AWESOME capture. I am glad that you survived to share this image with the rest of us. Link to comment
noart 0 Posted May 24, 2007 I'm sorry but i fail to see the beauty in a picture of a wounded creature... Link to comment
