I find it too dark at the top where the trees merge in solid blackness without any texture. There is some nice light coming down on that diagonal.

Works much better this way, Dana. That trickle of light sloping down on the diagonal is magical. I really appreciate your vintage camera work, keep up. Regards --Didi

Hi Dana, it's still too dark and a tad soft. But i'm here to ask how did you find my folder since i don't ask for ratings or a critique? nothing to worry about -- just curious. Does the fact the we are neighbors have something to do with it? want to meet and talk about photography?

Hi - appreciate your comments. I often use the ratings to "bookmark" images I like and am curious about; sorry if I rated without leaving a comment. Are we neighbors?

I'm on a box camera kick right now, taking a class at Simmons with Vaughn Sills in the fall. Drop me a line if you want to talk.

(I think all uploaded photos appear in the "rate recent" listings, not the critique request lists...?)

Dana, I live on Bennett in New York City -- saw your self-portrait hence the question. My pics couldn't go to the 'rate recent' without being rated first and you were first to rate that pic (ouch). ain't important anymore. So,if you're on bennett, nyc not boston maybe you show me your box camera -- it would be awesome. Maria.

Maria -I lived at 259 Bennett in the 80's. Loved that neighborhood. I'm in Boston now. Box cameras: this was an Ansco Shur-Flash without the flash, big 6x9 negatives; still experimenting. I have a Zeiss Ikon Box Tengor from the 20s too.

If you're in Boston drop me a line, maybe we can go make some pictures.
