sorry, have moved on 0 Posted September 12, 2001 I keep looking at this picture and find it a bit disorienting but ultimately striking. I like it quite a bit. I suspect that it would make a very good large print where you could see all the detail. Good work. Link to comment
paulfisher 0 Posted September 12, 2001 Thanks for the comments. This is a very spooky location, only a couple of hundred metres from suburban streets and a primary school, but you would swear you were on another planet. The light is strongly filtered through the trees, but there are also lots of reflections off the water, so it's often difficult to know exactly what the light is doing. Link to comment
eugbro 2 Posted September 13, 2001 A grand, surreal, intense, and unique photo, Paul. I like all your swamp photos. Link to comment
g1 0 Posted November 1, 2001 Even better than the one with ducks. I had to smile because your comment above about this swamp looking like another planet, is just what I had written on the other post! Brilliant location, and a fantastic photograph. Link to comment
tonys 0 Posted November 1, 2001 This shot is definitely better then the painted ducks. The foggy background emphasizes the swamp atmosphere. I guess it's difficult to shoot a swamp, because the light has multiple reflections from both the water surface and the mist in the air. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted November 2, 2001 You're definitely getting to know that swamp Paul and, with the surreal lighting, developing something of a unique style it must be said. Incredible to find it is so close to civilisation, yet I bet many have passed it by without much thought for its beauty. Just pleased you didn't. Well done. Link to comment
zuzus petals 0 Posted November 29, 2001 Thanks for you comments on my "Forrest for the Trees" picture, and even more thanks for the link to this folder! These are all incredible! When I saw this one in particular I was just dumbstruck with awe. It's absolutely amazing!! I'm really just learning how to take pictures.. I know mine leave a lot to be desired still. Mostly I'm trying to learn composition - and maybe one day I'll actually try to take a photography class and "really" take pictures. Your's are totally inspiring. Link to comment
philmorris 0 Posted December 14, 2001 This is a fine fine shot (then why hadn't I said so before?), improved by the lack of ducks, perfectly still water, a touch of frost (would I be right in saying frost?) and Paul Fisher's brush. Well done! Link to comment
pawel oziemblowski 0 Posted December 21, 2001 Purist may complain at horrible mess on this photo, but I think it's great just because of this. Link to comment
carl_madson 0 Posted March 3, 2003 Paul, Nice Shot! Have you looked at this in B&W? I pulled it into photoshop, converted it to grayscale and brought the brightness down to about -66 and it looks like a forest from those cheap spooky kids horror books I used to read! Thanks for sharing this photo! Out of curiosity what time of day was this photo taken? It looks sort of misty in background. -Carl Link to comment
leighperry 0 Posted August 24, 2004 A wonderful shot Paul. A great sense of chaos and harmony, at the same time. Link to comment
