wenger 0 Posted July 13, 2004 I hope the person in the ambulance didn't die while some idiot in front of it grabbed his/her camera and framed a picture before letting it pass. Just kidding PT... I know noone here would do something like that. It is a confusing image for me. Don't they write "ambulance" on the front of these backwards (the way it appears here) where you are? Here it is always written backwards so you CAN read it in the rear view mirror (as if the flashing lights and sirens wouldn't give it away). As for the image, it's not really doing a lot for me. The fact that it is a reflection does little for the image except add some blur. Otherwise I guess the subject is just a little too ordinary and depicted in just too ordinary of a way for me. tom t 0 Posted July 13, 2004 Well, Thomas, the ambulance is a Renault, so it's obviously not shot in the US. Here in Belgium most ambulances do have the wording in mirror-image too, so that yu can actually decently read the word in your rear view mirror. That said, agree with Thomas' comments. The blurr does not give us a sense of movement. Good idea for the assignment, but execution is so-so. Tom Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted July 13, 2004 I like the crop, but agree with Thomas and Tom's commens above. Not a bad shot, but it doesn't really grab my attention, either. Link to comment
livvie 0 Posted July 14, 2004 unfortunately agree with others re composition ... a little unexciting even with the movement blur ... how about a shot showing the actual rear view through the mirror with the "objects in the mirror are closer etc...." showing. Link to comment
htc 0 Posted July 16, 2004 Sorry PT, but this one does not work for me :(. I would go for a composition with the entire mirror in it, also the blur effect does not work for me. I wonder in which country the word is written normal on the ambulance. regards, calin Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted July 18, 2004 I think this PT is playing tricks with us. Could the photo have been taken from inside an ambulance? I do hope we'll get to know what's what ... not so keen on the aesthetics, but for me anything that makes one think is a good start! An the ambulance wording idea is a very good one for the theme IMO. Link to comment
