Icarus

pedja

f/16, 1/750 sec. This was shot during a diving competition. This man has just taken off from the bridge into the river about 25 meters below. Immediately after the leap he has to make some figures. One of them is half a spin, which he is performing at the moment of exposure.

Well, what can I say ? Fantastic shot, very nice composition. The buildings in the backround make everything look real. Otherwise it would have been like a painting. Improovments ? My eye has nothing to criticize here. Cheers.

Just the right amount of detail to make it abstract. I like it a lot! You have an excellent feel for composition, no mater if it's stunning landscape ore a shot like this one. - Regards, Martin

There is a reason why this picture is called Icarus. Absolutely astonishing capture of part of jump from bridge into the air, as if he is going to the sun, not the river. Second it is the sun. It is mediterrainean sun, not just any sun in the world. You have to know the combination of stone, grass and rusty plants. In fact Icarus was walking and flew from such terrain. In the moment, buildings looked like an Acropolis of any greek polis. Amazing composition. You have pushed Montenegro two milleniums back again. Bravo.

i know this must sound cliche, but thats what i thought when i saw this, the silhouette works perfectly here, i love the way the sun looks here, there is no indication that hes diving into a lake or something from this shot, very well done, at first i thought u had turned a picture around 90 degrees ;) kudos on a great shot.

Predrag,

This is a wonderful picture - I especially like the way that you decided to shoot into the sun and silhouette the diver - a bold decision, but I think it works excellently. If the world was an ideal place, it would be great if the diver had his arms out straight, but photographers often have to make the best of what is there at the time, which you have done fantastically. Congratulations ! Great title as well (well done Vesna !)
