johnorban 0 Posted July 13, 2004 This is a very pleasing image to my eyes. The cool blue color and implied swooping arcs of the birds' flight give me a feeling of a refreshing, open and airy place full of freedom from the daily rounds. A simple but evocative image. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted July 13, 2004 I liked this better as a thumbnail. I was initially attracted to the colors and the pattern. On close inspection, the birds aren't very sharp. Also, while I hate to get involved in PS discussions, this appears to be a digital composite (I could be off-base here). Also, while this is compositionally balanced into an H-shape, the composition ends up being pretty static. Link to comment
livvie 0 Posted July 14, 2004 i like it ... maybe it is a little soft and maybe a crop of a smaller area would look better as it seems a little off balance -but the reflections are very attractive and would fit our conceptual theme this month too i think. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted July 14, 2004 this is not a composit. the softness is due to handheld 600mm equivalent Nikon 80-400 VR at 1600th sec f5.6 These plovers are extremely fast in their movements. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted July 14, 2004 I'm glad you (indirectly) helped out with the title of this one PT. I too agree that this is a fun somewhat soothing image. But am with Robert that the small version was more enticing than the larger view. I still like it though and don't really have any suggestions for improvement that haven't been mentioned. salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 6, 2004 The amount of ripple in the water is just right, to still have a good relation between the real world and the reflected world. The colours are nice to my eyes but what I dislike are all the birds to the left on the point of "crashing and smashing into the frame"... I mean, a bit of space more to the left would have really helped, but I understand the little things there are quite fast. Cheers, Link to comment
