sandy. 1 Posted July 11, 2004 Funny we don't have a "Landscape" category while we have so many "landscape" photos hitting POW...Your comments appreciated. Link to comment
dhiren 0 Posted July 11, 2004 perfect exposure, but it lacks life, street life, may be a town square or a market... Link to comment
robert holmes 0 Posted July 11, 2004 This is a lovely image of a beautiful city...You have obviously (I think) used a tripod and produced a work of art from what is usually a "snapshot".....What equipment did you use?....And,YES, I do agree that there should be a "Landscape" category, and a "City" and "Low Light" categories.... robert holmes 0 Posted July 11, 2004 Sandy, many people on this website have never been to and, perhaps, never heard of Florence. The subtle beauty of this image may lost on them.. Link to comment
sandy. 1 Posted July 11, 2004 Thanks Robert, I was using a Canon 10D, handheld (not breathing while leaning against a wall :-D), EF16-35 @ 16mm, f2.8, 1 sec. ISO 100. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 12, 2004 Nice photo, it brings back so many happy memories. If I remember, I had a really nice smoke from right about where you are standing. I made a suggetion in the PN Feedback forum that a Landcsape Category be added, the suggestion received 3 (only) enthusiastic responses. But is doesn't make much sense to have a few Events, and no Landscapes, which really what most pictures submitted are. cheers-md Link to comment
micheleberti 0 Posted July 14, 2004 rarely I have seen Ponte Vecchio like this: it's amazing! I really like how u exposed and reflections are outstanding. I wonder if u can tell me what time did u take the shot? Bytheway f/2.8 @ 1sec handheld??? Is this a crop or the whole picture... I wonder because DOF looks really good. Link to comment
roberto p 0 Posted July 14, 2004 The reflection is really great. Very good timing. Congrats! Link to comment
sandy. 1 Posted July 14, 2004 Michele B,The time was just after sunset, so it was about 6:45pm. You are seeing the whole picture, no croping nor manipulation. Just the way it was. The 10D is a very good camera if you can hold it steady. I normally have camera shake, but this time I was lucky. Oh, ISO was 100. As I have mentioned, the Canon EF 16-35 is a very wide angle lens with lots of DOF. The datas are correct because it can be traced either on the camera or after it was downloaded. Cheers. micheleberti 0 Posted July 15, 2004 Thnx Sandy, I was asking 'cause I also gotta the 10D with a wide angle lens (but mine is not as good as yours... I got the 17-40 L) which I pretty frequently use handheld with long exposure, such as 1/10 or 1/15 of sec., but never tryied 1 sec hand held. I usually follow the rule of thumb for which the shutter speed shouldn't be slower than the reciprocal of your lens' focal. Anyway congrats again for the shot. Link to comment
melissa_eiselein 0 Posted July 19, 2004 Beautiful shot! I love the reflection and deep blue of the sky. Link to comment
eknos1 0 Posted November 18, 2004 Sandy, I lived in Florence back in the 60's. Never have I seen such a bella fotografia del Ponte Vecchio! Mille Grazie, Sandy Link to comment
el antorcho 1 Posted February 7, 2005 This is a great shot especially since it was handheld at 1 sec. If you ever decide to give up photography you should try competion target shooting with a steady hand like that. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 12, 2005 Extremely clear and sharp capture of a historical bridge. Link to comment
