barn shadows

Do you think the do-not-enter sign adds to or detracts from the

picture? It seems a major focal point... Thanks!

Susan, to be honest the sign is so small that I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out. The tree and shadows seem to me to be the central subject.

I agree, the sign is hardly noticed at all and what jumps out is the tree and its shadows. As such, if you had stopped down some more you could have had darker shadows and also would have preserved some more detail in the highlights.

Thanks for the comments! I've been using my automatic camera lately. Time to get back to the SLR with its better controls.
