A digital image. My first on the web. Normally I shoot large

format B&W or medium format or 35 mm B&W. Anything as long as it is

B&W. But with my new digital point and shoot I am experimenting

with colour. What do yu think. This photo has made it onto the BBC

news website this week.

The subject is interesting and their expression great, as the case in Asia when kids see a camera.

I would humbly suggest to simplify the picture... there are too many kids in too many different places of the shot, which unfortunatly becomes distracting.

Maybe a drastic crop of the rightmost pair, with just a quarter or less of what you have now, and with the pole running diagonal in the frame would be less photo journalism, but overall more aesthetically pleasent... ah, and adding a frame (black?) would also help the picture to stand out more when looked at on the screen, but this also is quite personal.

Cheers,

I love how the children are sprinkled throughout the sea of green. Their skin against the water resembles army fatigues while the smiles on their faces and sparkiling eyes make you think of peaceful playtime. It's a great contrasting mood.
