Very good contrast of microcomposition and mood of the macro composition. I love the contrast in color and foreground clarity and background misty feeling. I like it!

I was lucky to find the Rhododendrons growing in the Redwood Forest on my last visit to Redwood National Park. The Rhododendrons flowers stand out like a beacon among the giant Redwood trees covered in mist. The Redwood Forest takes on the magical feel during periods of misty rain..Almost as if some mythical character will emerge from behind a tree at any moment!!

Very relaxing to look at. One can almost taste the aromas eminatting from the plants and humus...feel the mist on one's skin....sure beats the heck out of this office I am sitting in.

Very peaceful Jay, I tried a few of these in Glacier and it can be very difficult to find a composition that makes sense. I might be interested to see what it might look like if there were some seperation between the two trees toward the left, giving more balance to the left side of the image, but that might also interfere with the flower to the left. Clearly nothing could be done about this and perfectly fine as is.(: Very well executed!!

I like how you've composed so many quintessential elements of the redwood forest into this single image; that's not easy to do, and you've created a beautiful and interesting composition.

Jay, I would consider the compositional skill involved in this image as masterful. Would you pat your right shoulder with my left hand for me please? ^_^

This was a very interesting shot. I like the lighting and the open space you gave it, which isn't easy in this type of environment. Definetely better than what I did the one time I came across Rhododendrons. I half-assed it.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and taking time to critique this photograph.

This was mainly a scotting trip for me (as I send less then 24 hours in the park) to select the choice locations and weather conditions for photographing the Redwood National Park. I intend to go back there again for exploring the park further...and hopefully get even better photographs.

Jay, I like all the elements in your compostion...especially the bright pinks and misty woods...just need a cute kid peeking out from a tree :-).

Wow, this is the kind of photograph most of us only can hope for when visiting the redwoods! Outstanding image!
