I think you meant to type "wheat." This is an original way to photograph this scene. I've been out taking photos of wheat this week and never thought of including sky. I like it. Are you able to use a gradient neutral density filter with your camera? A darker sky would benefit this shot. Or perhaps a polarizer filter to deepen the blue.

I too know the feeling of standing in front of these golden fields ... you just have to capture them..... rich, warm and inviting when the wind plays with "the yellow sea" and it is good to see different variations of the motive. I like yours with the sky added ... nice colors.
