melissa_eiselein 0 Posted July 4, 2004 I like the blue color and the way the "picture" portion is obviously a reflection on a blue reflective background. A perfect fit to the them! The single green "landed" in the upper corner may or may not have been deliberately set into that corner, but it works well. It's the only part that tells me we're looking at an airport...a very small one from the reflection. It might have been nice to have been able to read the destinations on the left, but they don't appear to be anyplace that I'd recognize. Link to comment
tom t 0 Posted July 4, 2004 Ah... but *I* (world traveller) recognize the destinations! agive-away to PT's identity! (for me at least). No gripes here. Love the shot! Though I do wonder where the blue cast came from? Camera white balance screw-up or blue light overhead? Anyhow- the blue cast works for me. Cheers, Tom Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted July 4, 2004 I knew somebody would decipher the destinations, but my PS skills weren't up to the task of changing them to read San Francisco, LA, New York etc! This is a straightforward single exposure with some work on Curves especially blue, saturation and contrast enhancements. Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted July 5, 2004 Good single shot PT. Funny how much it reminded me of some of the other multiple exposure manipulations that we've seen on PT as of late. I agree the blue works. I wish the reflection was of the jetway rather than the parking lot, but you gotta work with what ya got, right PT? Nicely seen. This may also fit into the conceptual folder. Link to comment
sallymckay-lepage 0 Posted July 6, 2004 I've tried commenting on this one three times already and deleated the lot. Why? Because in each case I failed to do the image justice. Quite simply this is a great photo. Okay...I'll give it another go. The three silhouetted figures really tell the story don't they. Each gazing out into the parking plot, waiting, but perhaps more importantly to the theme reflecting on their respective journeys. The insertion of the text from the monitor is a great way to cue the story without the obvious visual. The subtle light lines of the monitor add a curious grid both asthetically and conceptually as if suggesting a flight map or radar screen. The passing car, the other figure walking away, the parked cars and even the distant trees all elements which give the image a sense of depth and space suggesting the long wait. Great idea PT. One of my favorites! Sally Link to comment
glabarca 0 Posted July 6, 2004 One of my favorites too. Wondering where is this airport, but never mind it conveys that uneasy feeling that many people have at airports, at least I have. The blue is great for this photo. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted July 9, 2004 Like the others, I like the photo, too. The reflection is terrific, as is the blueish tone. Compositionally, this is a little unbalanced--there's a lot of weight in the top right and bottom left corner. Also, the blue area in the bottom right is a visual distraction easily fixed in PS. I wonder if Picture This also shot this scene straight on? Also, did PT try a horizonal format, which may have balance the composition better? Still, I like the photo-especially the creative approach to the topic. Link to comment
livvie 0 Posted July 10, 2004 the others have pretty much said it all ... its a super shot and the three guys on the bench really make it for me too. i would like to see metering so that the sillouettes stand out and the car park is blown out ... if that would that be possible? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 31, 2006 The theme is confirmed......good blue color and atmospher of busy airport reflected in the window.the human figures are adding the extra value of the image. nice image Link to comment
