matthew_s._schwartz 0 Posted July 2, 2004 I wasn't planning to take this photo, but this friendly and persistent drunk wouldn't stop talking about my camera. So, on a whim, I asked if I could take a picture of him. Honored, he asked if his friend could be in it too. So, with a flash and on ISO 800 (probably didn't need to be that high with the flash on), I took a quick picture. At first it was just amusing, but once I turned it into black and white, and upped the contrast a bit, the drunk's character really started to show. Same with the "good buddy" nature of his friend in the background. A bit of cropping, and the photo turned out nicely. My question is, is there a proper way to turn things to black and white? Would anyone recommend I play with the gamma settings here? I'm not entirely sure how to do that. Right now I like the shot a lot. The biggest technical error is probably the very evident reflection of an in camera flash on his face, but the reason it's so bright is because he was very drunk, and his face was quite shiny!
