Santorini Blue

advancedphoto

The blue of the original image was masked and inverted so that all other areas could be de-colorized. The levels in each layer were adjusted, then a mild sepia was added to the black and white portion.

Very nicely done Rev. Brent.

I like the theme of emphasizing the very memorable blue of Santorini. Is there symbolism in emphasizing the blue as the Orthodox concept of closeness to heaven?

Sepia is a very nice approach too.

Thanks to all for the positive comments.

Rod, very observent of you to notice. As you see only church domes, windows and the fenced entrance to a private family church have been left blue.

Best regards, Rev. Brent

Nicely done. Though it may seem that the right bright bulk is counterbalanced by the left dark bulk, I prefer to see some color in the see or the mountain side on the left. Or to limit the composition to the building structure. Regards.
