srostron 0 Posted June 29, 2004 This is really my first time at having a go at shooting car racing. I am wanting to find out what my photo lacks, or what I need to add to give it that extra "wow" factor. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 29, 2004 You've done well with your panning technique with good blur in the background and on the front wheels. To improve shots like you may want to choose backgrounds that are less busy so they don't distract from the central subject, though when shooting from spectator areas at crowded events like Goodwood this may be rather difficult. You might also want to try off-center framing which reinforces the sense of movement across the frame. Overall, good work for a first try. Link to comment

witolda_maruszewska 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Agree with the points Fred has made... This shot would look a lot better if the car was off-centre i.e. space to move in to, and the background a tad less cluttered. If memory serves, the top of the Goodwood hillclimb has much better background scenery than the start section. Otherwise a good effort for a first try. Looks like you've got the feel for shooting motorsports. :-) Link to comment
