bryan olesen 0 Posted July 11, 2004 Damn, I wish we still had the option to view the large version ! Link to comment
indraneel 0 Posted July 11, 2004 To follow up on Bryan's comment above, I think photo.net is becoming unusable with every passing day. My index finger now aches with clicking the mouse so much. Anyone knows the correct place to crib about this? Link to comment
johanna.sippola 0 Posted July 31, 2004 I can get it many levels! It must be quite different to repeat and go on with the idea. Thanks Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 7, 2004 Bob, I'm lovin it! You and me are on the same plane here, dude. I think I have at least 100 shots of beautiful birds just like this one in my archives. If you ever wanna join up with me and publish a coffee table book with our combined efforts, just let me know! Of course, I'd let you have top billing...I never managed to capture the arrow and circle with half as much clarity as you!!! Thanks so much for your recent visit to one of my photos, and the rating. I am TRULY Unworthy! All kidding aside, best of luck to you, and I plan on exploring your portfolio in detail. You have some great street shots that hold my eye, and that's a big compliment...I never usually look twice at people shots. This says alot about your skill! Link to comment
eric_klaszus 0 Posted August 27, 2004 thats some crazy stuff eh?! that is one hard core bird there...... Link to comment
terrypumphrey31 0 Posted September 5, 2004 I saw the thumbnail in your portfolio and wondered "what the hell?" After opening it I commenced to laughing my ass off. How many times have we shutterbugs tried to get a picture of a bird or anything fleeting and it is too far away? My real question is...How many of us have taken a pic like this in hopes that the resolution will be high enough so that we can zoom in on it? Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted September 5, 2004 You know how to get attention. Very funny and original!! Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted September 29, 2004 You know you've got something when you can capture almost the entire range of the rating scale with a single image. Keep it up. Link to comment
olbapvillar 0 Posted November 26, 2004 eventhough the humorous side of the picture is inmedialty shown, it could have more elements so that the intention and the quality of the picture are imporved. Link to comment
l_rus_a_alsteinsson 0 Posted December 8, 2004 I like your kind of humor, thanks for making me realy laugh. Link to comment
guyscrivner 0 Posted January 1, 2005 I came, I saw, I laughed. Then I laughed some more. What a great pause from sometimes a too serious subject. Link to comment
r 0 Posted January 17, 2005 Thanks Bob. This is quite possibly the funniest thing I have encountered on this site.Worked it into the story. Started here , just came from here. Hope you don't mind."So far so good", said Lola. Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted March 18, 2005 The Glove Maker looked around, still panting from the run up the stairs. It was a long, narrow room, lit only at the end where they were. Rows of still, dark machines went back into the gloom; he couldn't tell how far. At this end, Lola and The Customer stood, shoulder to shoulder, bent over a glowing screen on the one machine that hummed softly with life, speaking to each other, too low for him to make out. He saw no windows, and no doors other than the one to the stairway they had just ascended. Lola and the creep seemed pretty concentrated on that display. He began edging slowly towards the door. The silence of the Situation Room was broken by the hooting of a klaxon, and another machine flickered to life, bathing the Glove Maker in a harsh blue glow. Lola and The Customer whirled around, she stabbing at the button that silenced the klaxon, he pointing a small pistol at the Glove Maker."Lola! What's wrong?""My tracking device is in trouble, boss! Counter-measures." Link to comment
oswegophoto 1 Posted March 18, 2005 I rated this shot a long time ago, having thoroughly enjoyed it, but not having anything intelligent to say about it. Now, I'm not going to let that stop me. Ahem. It's such a relief to see the work of a photographer who respects the sacred rule of thirds (the bird on a vertical, the arrow on a horizontal, the clouds near to both) proving that adherence to tradition can still produce fine photographs.Addendum: the "just came from here" link, above, is now broken. If for some reason, you need to back up, click here. Link to comment
jeverz 0 Posted January 25, 2006 I had seen this photo before, thought it was funny! Will have to bring my magnify-glass next time :) (thanks for your "commnent"on my piano :)) Link to comment
lisicica 0 Posted April 4, 2006 :))))) LOLOL Why not? The others with crystal clear macros of rare almost extincted birds, like Dodo or something, have rights to claim the beautiful bird award and u don't. All depends on point of view. I vote for your shot, for spontaneity. This is the best catch I've seen on this site since am around(a month or so). And once again: :)) I can't help it. Link to comment
