chris_kuettner 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Shooting a series on Alzheimer's care. I was allowed to release this one. Link to comment
gustavovalle 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Little overexposed, nice composition and very emotive face. Link to comment
chris_kuettner 0 Posted June 26, 2004 I overexposed a bit to preserve more shadow detail...wasn't allowed to use fill flash or reflectors. Strong sunlight lit the subject. Oh well, here goes... Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Great shot. As you know, the problem is burnout. The eyes are very expressive. Have an idea on another way to see this image. Link to comment
chris_kuettner 0 Posted June 27, 2004 I couldn't do much about the blown highlights. The strong sunlight from the window blew everything out and I couldn't risk killing off the shadows where most of the subject is. Also, this exression only lasted a mater of seconds...I had time to focus, take one quick meter reading and shoot. It's not a situation where you can move your subject to a better lighting situation. chris_kuettner 0 Posted June 27, 2004 Not bad,I'll have to decide wheather I want to crop that tightly...I kinda like the wisps of hair in the background. But a good idea...I'll have to think a bit on that. Thanks for your input. Keep it coming! Link to comment
vorlandphotography 0 Posted June 28, 2004 I agree with Eduardo ... very powerful... in this case even the blown highlights help communicate the disturbing emotional content of this image. Link to comment
chris_kuettner 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Tnx Eduardo and David... This is more like photojournalism and less like portrait...pretty much have to shoot what's there, imperfect conditions and all. Link to comment
glassbus11 0 Posted July 20, 2004 Looking back at all those...I think I like the original version best. Link to comment
