phalvorson 0 Posted June 25, 2004 Lovely composition. Perfect timing to capture the warm glow on the peaks. I really like the stillness here. You might want to brighten up the foreground a touch although. Link to comment
geo sun 0 Posted June 27, 2004 It is a lake with a strange name: two jack. I was there in the day time and shocked by the beauty. Then I returned there on 9:00pm to take the picture. That was a unique experience and very memorable. Comments are carefully read and appreciated. Link to comment
dwm1953 0 Posted June 27, 2004 Your portfolio is full of images of serene beauty with excellent tonality and evocation of subtle colors. In this image I love the way your captured the reflection of the sun's last rays off the mountain top. While different in mood, I think there are viable b&w compositions for many of your works. With apologies, here is one such possibility. Link to comment
geo sun 0 Posted June 28, 2004 Hi, David, Thanks a lot for browsing through my portfolio. Thank for your work to make a b&w version out of it. Although the colors are lost, the contrast is enhenced. It makes me feel that you freezed the quickly elapsing view and make it ever lasting. It looks classic. Also your moving of the horizon to the upper 1/3 position make the photo looks better. Thanks. jmontgomery 0 Posted July 9, 2004 Very nice! However, I would have preferred the log not to have blocked the reflection ... perhaps a different angle would have helped? Also, I agree that the foreground appears a little dark ... did you use a grad ND on this shot as well to equalize the exposure? Link to comment
geo sun 0 Posted July 12, 2004 No. I did not use a grad ND on this shot. On the original shot, the foreground is not as dark. I just tweaked the curves in PS. The log was purposely placed in the composition to add some impefection to the symmetry. Thanks for commenting. Geo Very nice! kyang 0 Posted August 20, 2004 Very impressive work. The lighting and color are great. The compositive is very effective except the conflict between the log and the reflection. Link to comment
liuyuan 0 Posted November 24, 2004 This is my personal favorite in your entire porfolio and I think it hasn't got a decent overall rating it deserves. The colour version works better for me. I aspire to take a landscape photo like this. Link to comment
