wenger 0 Posted June 24, 2004 PT- FYI it is a no-no for PTs to do "Request for Critiques". This forum pretty much guarantees critiques, and as PT we can't reciprocate. If you choose to after the assignment is over you can upload to your own portfolio and do a RFC, but I personally even try to avoid personal RFCs on prior PT works. That would be your personal decision though. Link to comment
root 0 Posted June 25, 2004 . . . but then I wouldn't have had a chance to see it. :-) The three red lines are nicely balanced, but the eye immediately goes to the upper left corner because the top line is too close to the edge. If you can't reshoot this, try cloning in some stuff along the top until the distance from the red line to the edges are the same, top and bottom - just as an excercise. Link to comment
tom t 0 Posted June 26, 2004 Carl, You're always welcome to browse the PT assignment folders - no need to wait for a critique request, really. About the shot. Agree with Carl's comment - a bit tight at the top. Apart from that a really nice abstract. What is it? Tom Link to comment
sallymckay-lepage 0 Posted June 28, 2004 This looks like glass to me mostly because of the sheen but also because of the colour fragments melted within the bands of turquoise. If you have ever seen glass blown then you will surely realize the theme fit as blown glass with it's hairlike fibre is characteristically hard to controll requiring great skill and a lot of patience. Going with the flow is about all you can do if you are an amateur blower! A well thought concept PT resulting in a beautiful image. Sally Link to comment

robertbrown 1 Posted July 9, 2004 I like this abstact image quite a bit--I think it's a piece of art glass. The lines and colors are terrific. I agree about the top right corner being cropped a little too tight. In terms of the theme, "Go with the Flow" doesn't really work for me. While there is a flow here, it's not nearly the same thing as willfully "rolling down the window and let the wind blow back your hair," which implies an act of volition rather than merely "going with the flow." Still, I enjoyed this photo. Link to comment
