Shot in early June 2004 at Mono Lake, CA. This place has so many great spots to shoot from and is always crawling with photographers. I staked out this scene and planted my tripod and waited...I kind of like this shot.

Great scene. The delicate colors are wonderful. I might have tried to get more of the reflection in the scene, but then again maybe too many Mono lake shots look that way. When you say crawling with photographers, how many were there?

Hi Tom,

Another great shot! I just love the tones in this pic, you have exposed this pic so well. I would really like to know from what part of the image did you take yr reading (was it spot or average metering) and did u actually use a polarizer out here.?? (noted the other technical detials)

Great shot!! so inspirational

Simply put, this is beautiful. I'd love this to be HUGE, I have a great spot to hang it. ;)

Well done! Did you move the grad filter during the exposure? I can't visualize a two-stop straight line in your composition.

Great to see a new post from you Tom. A well balanced and inviting composition with beautiful soft tones and lots of detail for the eye to explore from this magical place. I wonder if a few minor curve adjustments to lift levels a little in the foreground and right third of the frame would be worth a try? Hope to see more of your posts. Regards.

(..later) Hmm, on another monitor the foreground details look just fine.

absolutely beautiful work, Tom. I was just there the week before Memorial Weekend, and the sky was not as colorful as what's shown here. I guess I should have waited until June. This is GREAT!

Would appreciate you critiquing my Mono Lake shots...mine doesn't even come close to your shots, so your advice on how to improve mine would be greatly appreciated.
