Yosemite

vincetylor

Editing images from a multi-roll Pacific Northwest trip last Fall has basically come to a halt due to other projects. However I thought I'd get at least something scanned to keep the hope alive. Taken in October near the end of a very long day. I have others that are better composed in my opinion. However, my feathered friend on the left corner added a little something extra in this image for me. I used a tripod at this location, but cannot remember much else...all a big blur! As always your opinions are greatly appreciated. www.hawaiianphotos.net

I don't know which is more pristine, the water or the photograph (we will have to leave it up to the duck). Gorgeous landscape and a loving tribute to the beauty of Yosemite.

There is no more to say .... It is EXCELLENT !!

I live in the Gret Hungarian Plain so this land is a fairyland to me :-) !!

Good composition but the colours are out of balance. The water blue is fine but the sky and the meadows are a bit too much -- they hurt my eyes.

The colorful sky and meadows are what you get at Yosemite around 4 in the afternoon. The warmtone polarizer enhances those to a degree, I guess. But in this case, with this location, I disagree with your opinion that it's too much. You must not shoot very much at all... :)

Vince--This is a good example of an image I would like to duplicate certain aspects of. I think I could spot this composition but am baffled as to how you get the crispness of ALL your colors and the saturations that you do. (as I said in an email I sent you, I'm new to this so I can't always identify things that I like and express it in words but I think the "saturation" is what I really love about the colors in this shot) I read many of your posts above (as well as on other shots)--I would like to thank you for taking your time to share your PROFESSIONAL advice with myself and everyone else. I often do the same thing by getting on different boards across the internet and answering medical questions--it is a nice way to give to others and I feel that they usual are very appreciative of "expert" advice, which makes it worthwhile for me. Thanks again for not only sharing but going above and beyond to help others like myself!

A polarizing filter and Velvia film in the mountains....that's what produces these gorgeous colors.

What Stephen said...

Also make sure all of your equipment is clean. Use a tripod whenever possible. Stop down as close to f/8 as you possibly can. Work an area thoroughly. I have about five rolls from this one spot. Many, I believe are better than this one. But I liked duckie and she liked me and that was that...

Hey Vincent, you photographed Hawaii untill all colors faded, now you are conquering mainland? :-)), Great shot,.. film is still way to go and work on film is getting accepted in more and more galleries, at least from my experience, commanding respectable prices

Hi Vincent,

Been quite some time. I hope you are well. I never saw this one of yours and just stumbled upon it. Like all the other's, it is simply phenomenal!

Best regards and keep up the fantastic work,
